Located at 500 North Bridge Street, the county-funded center serves an average of 2,500 residents each year, according to Somerset County. Its programs support children, adults, older adults and families, bringing multiple services together in one location.

Alongside behavioral health care, the center offers primary medical and dental care through a partnership with Zufall Health and on-site pharmacy services through Genoa Healthcare. The coordinated approach helps reduce the need for clients to navigate separate providers and locations.

Richard Hall has served the community since 1983 and is named after Somerset County’s first mental health administrator. Today, its staff includes more than 100 professionals.

“Richard Hall continues to provide comprehensive, expert care for residents of all ages, regardless of financial ability, who are facing challenges,” said Commissioner Sara Sooy.

Support extends beyond traditional individual and group therapy. The center offers non-clinical wellness groups designed to encourage social connections, reduce isolation and help participants develop coping strategies. According to the county, more than 2,800 clients participated in free wellness groups during the first half of 2026.

Specialized programs include Reach 4 Recovery, which provides community-based support and case management for residents affected by substance use. Participants receive help developing personal recovery goals and connecting with appropriate treatment and resources.

Family Case Management focuses on families affected by substance use. The program helps families establish healthy boundaries and connect with resources that support stability, safety and well-being at home.

The center is also seeking volunteers interested in sharing their skills and experience. Opportunities may include leading creative arts, music, dance, educational programs, Tai Chi, veterans’ support groups and other wellness activities.

“Richard Hall is looking for community members who would like to share their time, talents, and experience with those we serve,” said Executive Director Nicci Spinazzola.
