The gathering will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Watchung Lake at Stirling Road, bringing community members together for an evening focused on unity and connection.

Participants can personalize a lantern with a message before releasing it onto the lake. Whether remembering someone special, expressing a wish for the future or sharing words of encouragement, each contribution will become part of a collective display.

The event invites neighbors to pause during the busy fall season and reflect on what peace means to them. Its theme connects individual messages with a shared hope for a more peaceful world.

Now in its fourth year, the lantern launch offers a way to express those thoughts through a simple activity: writing a personal message and watching it join others on the water. The gathering combines opportunities for individual reflection with time spent alongside fellow community members.

Hot apple cider will be available courtesy of the Watchung PBA, adding a seasonal welcome to the evening.

For readers in Watchung, Warren and Green Brook, the event offers a nearby opportunity to gather around a message of hope. The setting at Watchung Lake will provide the backdrop as participants send their lanterns onto the water.

Community members are invited to join the November 13 gathering and help fill the lake with messages of peace, positivity and remembrance.
